About Us

Black and Gold Archers are a target archery club. The club was founded on the GCHQ Benhall site as a joint Gun and Archery club. It took its name from the colour of the centre of both targets, black from the centre of the rifle target and gold from the archery target. Later the gun club folded and the archery club had to find a new ground to shoot on, so the Black and Gold Archery Club was born.

We are part of the Cheltenham Civil Service Sports Club and have the use of all the facilities on site. These include bars, changing rooms, catering, function rooms, car parks and child's play area.

Membership is not restricted to Civil Servants and we welcome new members of all ages.

Club nights are Thursdays through the summer and winter months. In the summer months club members can shoot on Mondays and Thursdays at all distances. In the winter months we shoot Thursday evenings indoors using a school hall.
